Business Planning and Consolidation – (BPC)

SAP BPC is the ‘go to’ tool for streamlining your planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and consolidation processes. It is a best of the breed application that combines a familiar and friendly Microsoft interface with the strengths of the SAP Business Warehouse. It enables business users to take control of their planning and consolidation processes, while not impacting on the core Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).

SAP Business Intelligence – Integrated Planning (BI-IP) was SAP’s standard planning tool, which has now been superseded by BPC. BI adds value to your investment in a data warehouse. The data warehouse / BI paradigm is accepted as mainstream, however it is important that organisations don’t create silos of data or a proliferation of tools and databases. Planning and forecasting are an important element in BI, enabling better decision making that aligns with corporate strategy.

Business Intelligence – Integrated Planning (BI-IP)

SAP’s previous planning tool, now superseded by BPC. BI integrated planning is a part of SAP NetWeaver BI, which is SAP’s platform for business analysis.  It is a generic planning tool that supports various types of strategic and operational planning and allows planning at any level of detail. User interfaces and business rules may be defined to meet the needs of any type of plan when structuring a model in a company.  BI integrated planning provides convenient and easy-to-use process support. It provides tools that close the gaps between operational processes by loading and distributing from and to transactional systems.

Business Warehouse (BW)

SAP introduced Business Warehouse Information Systems (BW) in the first half of 1997. This system approach consolidates the external and the internal sources of data into a single repository and provides preconfigured data that aids the organizations and enterprises in dealing with the data management and archiving.
